I bought them mainly because of the quiet key feature so I can type without disturbing people nearby or waking up my family when I use my computer at night. For that purpose these keyboards are great, and the split design is quite comfortable. Each keypad is very comfortable and being able to adjust their position on the fly depending on how I'm sitting has already alleviated the constant neck strain I was getting with my previous standard keyboard.
Very well built, comfortable and robust. Sometimes some keys get stuck tho. Comfortable, tons of fancy functions. But, the qualify of the keys is horrible. I loved that it is split, and has a lot of separation since my shoulders span nearly 48 inches, and don't like to type like a T-Rex like with other keyboards.

Supported them on Kickstarter, when it arrived I immediately fell in love. I even bought a second one to use at work! So much more comfortable than ANY gaming keyboard I have ever used. The keyboard is comfortable, responsive, and overall just great to use. I LOVE this keyboard.
It took a little getting used to starting out but after awhile i got the feel for it. Personally i have a limited desk space and play a lot of FPS games and need as much mouse space as i can get. This keyboard is perfect for that. If I had to complain about anything, it would be the plastic.

The separation on that was just not enough for me. I bought this after some issues with my wrists and shoulders came up. The independent pieces make it so that I can place my arms naturally while I type. I have a great deal of hand and wrist pain when I type all day long. A coworker told me about this new Matias low force keyboard that helped to eliminate their hand pain. They were rite on the money.
Proper F keys. I use these quite a bit as well, and while these are serviceable, I would have liked them to be full size.
There is room on the keyboard without increasing its overall dimensions, so I'm not sure why they chose this route. The 6 key is on the right hand keyboard, not the left. The reach is too far. I am not a big fan of the switches used on this keyboard. This is a very subjective thing, but for me the keys are overly sensitive and wiggle WAY too much. 6 key rollover default works really well (again a substantial upgrade from the MS4000's 3ish key rollover), and N-Key rollover seems to work on macOS also, which is surprising, not a lot of keyboards do NKRO on macOS. My favorite feature on all Kinesis Keyboards is the keys to the left; I use the copy and paste all the time. This version has them programmable so really I can put anything there. The quality of this keyboard is very apparent. The keys feel excellent and the backlighting means I can take down the silly book light I used to use with the Freestyle2 to see the keys in the dark. The switches on this board are nice quality. The cherry mx blues feel great.
They are responsive along with the stabilizers on the larger keys. I couldn't be happier with the feel of the switches. Non-standard navigation cluster (home/end, ins/del, page up/dn).

The wrist rest is very comfortable. Not only is the quality of the keyboard absolutely superb, but Matias customer service is fantastic. I lost a cable and needed support.
A Matias rep emailed me back immediately upon receiving my email and helped me solve my issue. The right half is slightly bigger to make room for the USB ports and power plugin. I would gladly sacrifice the USB ports if it meant a more even split of keys. Mainly the keys 6 and F5 really need to be on the left half and so far my left index finger keeps going for them to find only air. The rear elevated configuration rocks due to tripod effect. I have noticed the wrist rest fabric beginning to fray (or visibly wear) in just a month of daily use, exactly where the ball of my left wrist rests on it.
The usb to micro usb connection that they provide with the keyboard is incorrectly angled. The angle of the cable is going to the left while the micro usb port is on the right side so you need to bend the cable in order for it to run away from the keyboard (see image attached). Having the tenting sit at 10 or 15 degrees and I'm still resting my palms on the palm rests. I LOVE that zero software is required to use the extra features of the keyboard. The software stays on the keyboard, so you don't have to install it on each of your devices. It's full of features for rebinding keys and creating macros and such. It does exactly what I need it to. The ability to access the software inside the keyboard is hands down worth every penny; programming the Edge is trivial and very robust.
