I successful mapped the network drives and installed win 10 updates. 24 hours later, however, the internet kept dropping and would not reconnect. I uninstalled the network adapter and drivers, then installed the latest Win7 driver from intel for the 4965AGN (which is not Intel supported for WIN8 or WIN10) using win 7 compatibility and administrator After researching problems I 1)I unchecked IPV 6 2) unchecked power management 3) uncheck ms network adapter multiplexer protocol 3) disallowed automatic driver updates The internet is now stable; however, it will not reconnect the network drives which I successfully mapped when windows 10 first started. Nor will it connect to other networked PC's.
4) I turned off windows firewall for the private network Still not reconnecting network drives. 5) I deleted the network drives and rebotted 6) Used Dink easy search utility to locate the drives 7) Tried to map with the utility and it says it cant access the network.
Network Drive is a Dlink DNS 323 which two other laptops (one surface pro) both connect to over wifi and one desktop which connects over Ethernet. Nothing is wrong with the router as it operates everything else in the home. There is no VPN. I am having similar issues as described here: Dell laptop, tried everything above, also without success:-( my adapter is Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection (but it seems to not be limited to Intel adapters only) device manager claims it is the latest and working properly. However, every time the machine wakes from sleep, there is no wifi connection, and I have to use the 'troubleshoot problems', which will connect to the wifi network and it tell me that it has ' Reset the wireless adapter', and the wifi will work just fine till the next time it falls asleep, i.e. The troubleshooting only works once, and it is not a permanent fix.

There is no VPN I solved the same problem with my 'HP Compaq 2710p' with 'lntel(R) Wireless WiFi Link 4965AG' trough these steps: 1 - I opened Device Manager 2 - Then the Network Adapters 3 - I opened Properties of 'lntel(R) Wireless WiFi Link 4965A' 4 - Then Power management 5 - At this point I 'unchecked' the box from “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power”. 6 - Then I saved everything clicking 'OK' It is all, hope you solve the problem as soon as possible good luck!
