Excel 2016 for Mac Last Updated: October 19, 2017 ISSUE When you click Export to Excel to export a SharePoint list on a Mac, it doesn't open the file in Excel for Mac and instead downloads the query.iqy file. This is working as expected as the internet query connection is not supported by Excel for Mac. WORKAROUND If you have Excel for Windows, you can save the file as XLSX and then open it in Excel for Mac. You'll be able to see the data but you won't be able to refresh the data connection. Note: If you save the file, the default file name for the first copy is query.iqy, and is downloaded to the default download folder for your browser. Use your browser's Save as to change the name and location. If needed, click OK Open after the file download begins.
